Random Add-on Story! Part One

Ever get it where you want to blog but don't know what to blog about? I get that a lot, so I thought of this pretty awesome idea of having an add-on story. If you want to participate, just title a post Add-on Story Part (#). Feel free to add and delete characters and twist the plot in crazy directions! That's what it's here for. So, without further a-doo, Part One!

It had been an extremely warm and muggy summer afternoon, and twins James and Olivia Brown had tried everything to stay cool at their grandmother Moyra's un-air conditioned home. The two swam in the creek which had warmed in the summer heat and made lemonade, but the ice couldn't even keep it cold. Finally they had the idea to go down to the very scary basement where they never wanted to play. However, it was the only cool place in the whole house. James and Olivia grabbed their comic books and magazines as they headed down the creaky old staircase.

Once at the bottom of the stairs, James found the chain for the single bulbed light and pulled. A dim, yellow light shown on the cement walls and floors as well as on the ancient yellowing washer and dryer. At the left end of the room, Olivia spotted an old door.

"What do you suppose is in there?" she asked her brother.

"I don't know. Maybe some old furniture? Hopefully some couches we can sit on and some decent lighting," James replied, making his way towards the door. However, what they saw inside the room wasn't at all what they had expected. The only item in the room was an old upright piano that had been painted a sickly lime green color many years ago.

"Why would Grandma keep an old piano down here?" asked James. Olivia shrugged as she made her way towards it. She pressed her finger down on an A, but nothing came out. Confused, she opened the piano, but instead of finding the usual contents of a piano, there was nothing inside. Nothing but an old envelope.

Oooo! Suspense! Someone take part two!
